Funeral Services for Ms. Vaval's mom
The viewing / wake is Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 4pm to 8pm at J. Foster Phillips funeral home on Linden Blvd and 179th Street. The funeral is the following day, Thurs. 10am. at St. Joachim and Anne Church....Burial at St. Charles cemetery. We will have refreshments at the house Thurs. around 3pm 218-17 99th Ave Queens Village.

Professional Development next week
Hi Everyone,
As you know, we will come back together to begin the school year next week. I took a look at the table of organization and realized that there are almost 50 people on our team now!?!? I also realized that we don't have a space at Pathways that is conducive for our work together so we will spend the first 2.5 days off site at Queens HS of Teaching. We will begin at 8:30 sharp. Please be on time so we can get through our packed agenda in a timely manner. I can't wait to hear about your travels and adventures.

Breakfast will be provided each day. Lunch will be on your own. There are several places that deliver to the area.

Sad News
Dear Pathways Family,
I regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Hartley, mother of Michael Hartley. She passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008.
The services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Mt. Moriah AME Church located at 116-20 Francis Lewis Blvd at 116th Avenue (a few blocks south of the school).
The wake will take place from 3:00-7:00pm. Funeral services begin at 7:00pm. There will be a prayer service at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00-9:30 before the family leaves for the cemetery.
Please keep Michael and his family in your prayers.

Upcoming College Board Training

Many of you have signed up to attend the Vertical Team training sessions on Thursday, July 31 and August 1. The event will be held at the Lighthouse Executive Conference Center, 111 East 59th Street, New York, NY 10022. Parking will be tight. Remember breakfast begins at 8:00am.
The work you will be doing during these two days will lay the foundation for our work together this year.
Please feel free to share your comments about the training.
